KLC Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established and growing business seeking a highly organised Accounts & Finance Officer to join their team on a 12-month maternity leave contract.
This is an excellent opportunity to step into a diverse and hands-on role with a comprehensive handover provided by the current incumbent. Reporting directly to senior management, you will play a key role in supporting the company's finance and administration functions.
About the Role
This position offers variety and responsibility, with duties spanning accounts receivable, invoicing, payroll support, reconciliations, reporting and general office administration. You will work closely with operational teams to ensure accurate financial reporting, strong cash flow management and exceptional internal support.
Key Responsibilities
Accounts & Finance
- Manage accounts receivable, collections and aged debtors.
- Prepare weekly receivables and cash flow reports.
- Perform bank reconciliations and monitor cash status.
- Process invoicing and ensure timely payment collection.
- Assist with monthly financial reporting and management information.
- Prepare documentation and reports for external accountants.
- Monitor project financials, WIP reporting and outstanding receivables.
- Maintain records relating to retentions, bonds, warranties and project financial commitments.
- Support payroll processing, including timesheet entry and payroll data verification.
Administration & Project Support
- Maintain accurate financial and project databases.
- Assist with subcontractor documentation and contract administration.
- Coordinate office and site administration requirements.
- Prepare reports, board packs and management information as required.
- Ensure compliance records, permits and documentation remain current.
- Provide administrative support to management and operational teams.
Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- Previous experience in a similar Accounts, Finance or Administration position.
- Strong accounts receivable, invoicing and reconciliation experience.
- Payroll processing experience highly regarded.
- Experience using accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks or similar.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
- Ability to prioritise workloads and work autonomously.
- Experience within construction, projects, trades or a related industry will be highly regarded.
