General Manager - People and Capability

KLC Recruitment is seeking an experienced and commercially minded General Manager: People & Capability to join a well-established not-for-profit organisation undergoing an exciting period of transformation and growth.
This is an outstanding opportunity for a senior HR professional to take ownership of an organisation's people, culture, capability and workplace safety functions while playing a pivotal role in shaping its future.
Reporting directly to the Chief People Officer, the successful candidate will lead an established team of six and work closely with executive leadership to develop and implement innovative people strategies, strengthen organisational culture and build leadership capability across the business.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of the organisation's People & Capability strategy, aligning initiatives with broader organisational objectives.
  • Drive organisational culture, employee engagement and the development of a compelling Employee Value Proposition (EVP).
  • Oversee workforce planning, succession management and leadership development initiatives to build a strong internal talent pipeline.
  • Develop and implement learning and capability frameworks supporting employees from frontline positions through to executive leadership.
  • Oversee employee relations, remuneration frameworks, workforce reporting and HR governance.
  • Partner with executive leadership, Finance and operational managers to support workforce planning, organisational growth and change management.

Skills and Experience
To be successful in this position, you will demonstrate:
  • Extensive senior-level generalist HR experience, ideally within a complex or regulated organisation.
  • Demonstrated success implementing culture, employee engagement or EVP initiatives with measurable outcomes.
  • Strong experience in workforce planning, succession management and leadership capability development.
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing workplace health and safety, including psychosocial safety and injury management.
  • A proactive and collaborative leadership style, with the confidence to make decisions and manage complex matters.

Highly Regarded
  • Experience within aged care, disability, NDIS, community care or broader health services.
  • Previous involvement in HRIS, payroll or learning management system implementations.
  • Experience supporting organisational growth and workforce expansion.
  • Ability to travel across organisational sites as required
