- Full-time, Permanent 6.30am – 2.30pm Monday-Friday
Base annual salary of $77,571.00 + Salary Packaging (up to $15,900.00)
About the Opportunity
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced PCA to join our team at Rosary Home in a full-time role, Monday to Friday from 6:30am to 2:30pm. In this rewarding position, you will support residents with daily living activities including showering, dressing, grooming, assisted care, light domestic duties, and guiding them to meals and activities. You will deliver high-quality, person-centred care in line with individual care plans and the Aged Care Quality Standards.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assists residents with showering, dressing, grooming, assisted care, domestic assistance, and guiding residents to their activities and mealtimes
- Assists residents with activities of daily living including (but are not limited) to personal hygiene, toileting, nutrition, and mobility.
- Provide personal care needs and services as per consumer’s individual care needs and care plans
- Provide person-centred care to residents in accordance with the Aged Care Quality Standards
- Contribute to the provision of holistic care in accordance with residents’ choice as per their individual care plan
- Perform personal care activities contained in the care plan to assist the resident with their activities of daily living. The Personal Care Assistant performs the assigned tasks as instructed by the Registered Nurse in the Care Plan.
- Actively participate in identifying resident care needs, implementing and evaluating the needs in conjunction with the Registered Nurse.
- Actively participate in assisting residents to maintain dignity and choice
- Undertake general housekeeping duties
- Adhere to Occupational Health and Safety and Infection Control policies.
- Communicate effectively with residents, the Operation Manager and the wider care team
- Accurate documentation of any resident care issues and care services provided, including adverse events and enhancements to care plans using ECASE
- Work co-operatively as part of the wider care team.
- Encourage and assist residents to maximise their independence
- Comply with and apply compulsory reporting requirements in accordance with relevant legislation.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Completed Cert IV in Individual Support or Aged Care
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience
- Level 2 First Aid Certificate
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to use judgement, initiative and common sense when performing duties
- Current national police check clearance
- Up-to-date Influenza vaccination
