Our client, a highly regarded not-for-profit organisation delivering frontline homelessness and community support services, is seeking an experienced Senior Greenlight Supportive Housing Worker to join the Greenlight Program within the Inner Melbourne Community Hub. This impactful role sits within a multidisciplinary program, supporting people transitioning from chronic homelessness and rough sleeping into long-term, sustainable housing. As a Senior Greenlight Supportive Housing Worker, you will provide advanced case management and outreach support to clients with diverse and complex needs. You will work with people to stabilise their housing, improve health and wellbeing outcomes, and reduce the likelihood of returning to homelessness. In this senior role, you will also lead complex operational work, provide mentoring to team members, and contribute to service development and program improvement.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Use sound judgement to assess and manage risk and complex client interactions during community-based outreach.
- Provide comprehensive tenancy support and deliver holistic, client-centred case plans.
- Maintain strong knowledge of community agencies, referral pathways and relevant resources.
- Navigate and build linkages across intersecting service systems (mental health, AOD, disability, family violence, justice, NDIS, RTA).
- Provide task-based brief interventions alongside longer-term case management.
- Ensure best practice service delivery through training, upskilling and supervision.
- Administer funding within eligibility requirements and complete internal surveys as needed.
- Participate in the Homelessness Resource Centre roster, offering information, advocacy and practical support.
- Lead collaborative practice, support team members on complex cases and foster strong stakeholder relationships.
- Contribute to program reviews, service development, policy processes and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate records, contribute to governance and risk frameworks, and ensure compliance with legislation and organisational procedures.
Skills and Abilities
- Relevant tertiary qualification with 3–4 years sector experience
- Strong understanding of homelessness, rough sleeping and issues impacting clients including trauma, mental health, substance use, disability, justice involvement and family violence.
- Ability to deliver holistic, client-centred responses to complex needs.
- Proven experience managing risk, challenging behaviours and complex case presentations.
- Commitment to social justice, human rights, self-determination and culturally responsive practice.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills in a high-volume environment.
- Initiative, self-reflection and sound judgement, with the ability to mentor and support colleagues.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to maintain professional relationships.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and IT platforms.
- Victorian Driver’s Licence and Working with Children Check
